SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe!!! It is snowing again and quite heavily too!! Just when I thought I had seen the last of the snow too!!!! I have had to bring in all the pots of plants that I potted up on Sunday otherwise they will freeze!!!!!

Magnolia Tree

Just some photos of the Magnolia Trees by the side of the deck, they are blooming right now and the smell is heavenly. At the side of the house we have another 6 of these trees and they look gorgeous, you can see them from the bottom of the valley as you look up. This is the first time I have seen them in bloom, when we moved here last year they had already blossomed and were just green trees; at the time I wasn't even sure what they were. So this is the reason why I am going on about them LOL.

Not much to write about today.......

It has been glorious weather here, the sun has been shining most of the day and the temp reached about 18C. Spring is definately in the air.

I managed to do some scrapping during the week but can't show you the layouts as they are for the design team.

I hope you are all haveing a great weekend, what are you all up to?

Another bird house!!! but this one is functional hanging from the magnolia tree overlooking the deck, the perfect place to watch the birds, the only thing is, I dont know what half of them are!! so what type is this?

What did I tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These birdhouses are so addictive that I did another one last night!!!! This one is absolutely tiny it is only approx 5cm in height!!!!! and as you can see not only is it so cute but its also a wind chime, and it was only $1!!! I have about another 4 to alter different shapes but about the same size. Even DH liked this one and asked me to do one for his office but obviously not in pink!!!

I just received a few comments on the other bird house I posted last night so here is my technique if you can call it that:

I used patterned papers for the roof, front, back and sides. First of all I painted the whole house with gesso then the bits that I wasn't going to paper I painted with acrylics on both the houses its the pink parts. I then covered the other bits with paper.

These houses are not functional as such, just pretty!!!:) I guess if I decorated them with something else then they could be used outside but I can't think of any bird that would fit in the wind chime house so that is just functional but the other one is the right size for a bird. Hope this makes sense and if anyone wants any other info let me know I am happy to explain.

This is a tissue holder for the car!! It fits into the cup holder. It is a culvers shake cup (for those of you in the UK I am sure that Starbucks do a cup with a lid just like this) and all I did was cover it with paper and add the ribbon. The tissues are the ones that come in a square box, I just had to play about with it a bit so they dispensed properly.

I altered this bird house the other day, its to go in my craft room when it eventually gets finished!Watch this space for more bird houses, they are addictive!

 

Today I should be at a scrapbook convention in Minnesota with some friends. But due to other family commitments I have had to give it a miss!! So instead of spending loads of money on stash I have had fun witht he boys baking some yummy chocolate cup cakes.

I did manage to go to the LSS last night and do some scrapping and you can see the layouts below. I even managed to do one for the never ending disney album!!!! and used the autumn leaves clear stamps that I bought over a year ago now!

Yesterday I spent some time sowing some seeds with the boys. We have another 15 or so packets to sow! ranging from pumpkins to watermelons!!!!

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger lately!!!!! I will try to update more often, not that many people read this blog and really care if I update or not LOL

Well I have managed to do quite a bit of scrapping and even some altering. Since Friday I have done 3 layouts and altered something, all will be revealed as soon as I manage to take some pics.

We had more snow this week and I thought spring was on its way too!!!!!

Today we went to Rochester and had a curry!!! which was nice but not as good as what we were used to in the UK, the owner told us that over here they tend to play down the spices (flavouring and not hotness), as not many people like it that way and that he has had to modify the dishes differently compared to his restaurant he has in Wimbledon (London).

I recently just finished a fabulous book called Marley and Me, if you want to laugh and cry then this is the book for you and I highly reccomend it.

Anyway its midnight so I am off to do a little surfing and then its bed for me.
