Sorry for my absence, I have been a little preoccupied and obsessively wanted to finish off making the blocks for my new quilt. All 45 blocks are now completed and all I need to do is sew it all together (which I plan on doing this weekend)
Browsing all the different blogs online I came across a beautiful String Quilt, aptly named Kaleidoscope by Film in the Fridge and also a great tutorial on how to make the blocks.
Talk about easy peasy! this quilt is a paper/foundation pieced quilt and could not be any easier. I had a lot of fun using up lots of different scraps that I had left over from other things I have made.
I asked my youngest son if he were to give this quilt a name what would he call it, and he said it was a little Psychedelic looking so that is the name of this quilt!
I am still working away like a little bee on my Union Jack Hexagon quilt and have now basted 70 hexies! only another 430+ to go! and if that wasn’t enough I also started making a new table runner and also bought a lovely little mini wall hanging pattern. I get the feeling I am turning into one of those woman that has many WIPs. So I guess without knowing it I just joined the club!
You are so very talented and I love the fabrics you are working with! I use to sew a lot but just baby boutique items. I have never learned quilting. My mother in law quilted some blankets for the boys. Thanx for sharing at THT!
