This image is a wish rak from Lynn (aka Lynn in St Louis) on SCS. Thanks so much for the images.

I absolutely adore these Penny Black cow images. Before I was really into the hedgehogs but the cows have got be my favourite as they are so cheeky and I think make a great card as they are sure to put a smile on the face of a person receiving it.

Beautiful Day - Bread Making recipes Needed

It has been gorgeous here today. So no crafting done. However, I did make some bread!!! and it tasted so good. Now before you all go and think that I was kneeding this bread in this hot weather NO not me. I bought a bread machine a couple of weeks ago and I love it. BUT all I have made in it so far is plain white bread on the quick setting. It tastes just delicious BUT I could really do with some more bread recipes just to try it out and there is nothing better than a TRIED and TESTED recipe. So if any of you have recipes you would like to share with me please do. My bread machine has a one and a half pound setting and a 2lb setting. Right now I have a bit of a craving for some toasted teacakes so I think cinnamon or raisin bread would be soemthing I could make in it soon.

Not much going on here today. I stayed up last night until1am as I got carried away colouring in the images that I was sent as a RAK wish on SCS (as mentioned on an earlier post). This is one of the cards that I have made, I absolutely love these Bella images that Cindy sent me and will be saving my pennies to buy some eventually.

Ribbon again

Isn't if strange how when you are out shopping things just seem to jump into the trolley (cart). Well that happened to me today. I just needed these ribbons and have been wanting them for ages (well all of 5 minutes).

We also popped to the Mall and I treated myself in Victoria Secrets well with all the lovely things I bought at Tanger I needed to have something to stop gravity making my T shirts look like a sack of spuds ( potatoes).

Ribbon Rack

I saw something like this for sale and asked DH if he could help ME make something like it!!!!!. So off we went to get the bits and this is what it we both ended up with. Not bad for no more than $2, the wood cost 29 cents a piece and the dowels were 15 cents each.

I am thrilled to bits with it, now I can see all my ribbons to hand instead of having them away in boxes or drawers.

The only problem is I NEED MORE RIBBONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Managed to have a play with some new papers that I bought at Target on Monday, and one of my Penny Black stamps, I will post the details of the stamp when I find it again underneath all the mess I have made. This room looks like a tornado has been in it!!!!

More Happy Mail and Wisconsin Dells

Today we went to Wisconsin Dells and had a fab time, the weather was not that brilliant so we decided to not do a water park and we went to Wizards Quest instead. The boys had a fab time and we did the harder of the 2 quests. If you have never been to it and have boys between the ages of approx 9-12 I recomend it as my two really enjoyed themselves. We also ended up doing some clothes shopping at the Tanger Outlet, which was fun as I treated myself to some nice things in Tommy Hilfiger.

When we got home I checked the post and found that I had received a Welcome RAK card from debra aka dtstamp2 on SCS. Its a gorgeous card and the flowers have gliter on them, the back ground stamp used on it is so intricate, if your reading this THANK YOU very much it certainly put a smile on my face.

Happy Mail

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I received some happy mail, my first RAK Wishes from SCS. From the lovely Lynn (aka Lynn in St. Louis) I recived some stamped images of the Penny Black Cow that I have been lovingly gazing at on her blog Do you have Stamperosity.

From Cindy aka cynamom I received some fabulous Bella images, I am not sure which ones so will have to check them out, but I have been wanting to try out some of these images for a while now and finally have a chance too.

If your reading this ladies THANK YOU very much.

Mall of America

Yesterday we went to the Mall of America. All I can say is my feet are killing me. The drive up was breath taking, the scenery was amazing!

We didnt spend too much money and considering I was really looking forward to going to Archivers I didn't spend very much money!!! I bought a stampendous stamp and some brads, how bad is that!!! maybe I wasnt in a great shopping mood, very unlike me! Anyway we didnt get back home until very late!

Fed Up

Maybe its all the rain that we have had in the last couple of days but I feel a little fed up today.

One of the difficult things about moving to another country is starting all over again to make new friends. I suppose it is even harder when it is a new country because of different cultures. Lucky for me I don't have to contend with a different language but I do find that because of my english accent I am noticed more easily!!! this wouldn't be so bad if I was an extrovert, but I'm not.

I guess it will be easier when the boys go back to school and I can get out and about and meet people.

I spend quite a bit of time online at UK Scrappers and split coast stampers.

I have lost my mojo for scrapping at the moment but seem to have my mojo for making cards, maybe its a good time to get on top of my christmas cards. I have joined the SCS RAK list and have sent out a RAK to someone in AL. I have stamped some images for another person in Carlisle, Kentucky (which I will post on Monday) (so if your reading this stalk your postie. I think I will be getting a RAK in the post soon as I got a pm from one of the girls on SCS so that will be fab as I could really do with some happy mail right now!

Anyway seeing as I find blogs without any pics boring here is something I made for our new HOME last month.

Right, enough whining I am off to do some stamping

Flash Floods and Land Slides

This morning I went to collect the paper from the mail box and what a shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The neighbours drive above us (we live on a bluff)has slid away and the next neighbour alongs garden has been completely devastated as we had a couple of land slides last night. Luckily nobody has been hurt but there is a lot of mud everywhere and mess. Diggers were out about 11.00 last night clearing the mud off the road.

We are going to have more rain aswell lets just hope no more damage is done.

Rain, Rain and more Rain

Not much happening here today, apart from a lot of rain!!!

When it rains here it really rains. We have had roaring thunder and lightning. Its really amazing, I love to just watch it. Its nothing like the rain we get in England it just completely chucks it down!!!!

We popped out to get some groceries and it was like a lake on the road, spray going all over the place. At least the car got a good wash.

Not done any crafting today at all. I have spent most of my time doing research on the internet as we are looking to buy a new camera. I am thinking about either this sony a or this canon but I am a little confused by it all.

So if any of you people out there have any suggestions for me let me know as I would be interested in any views or opinions on them.

VIRUS

Yesterday tea time I went to have a browse on the internet and my computer had caught a virus!!!!! So I got my very clever husband to have a looksie!!! Bearing in mind that he is an IT Manager and this is his field of work it took him about 5 hours to fix the problem!!!!! If someone else had caught the virus where would they look, they wouldn't necessarily have the know how of how to fix it and then it would cost money to get someone else to fix it. Anyway it is all fixed now and he did a little bit of house keeping on it too, so now it is even faster, so I am a happy bunny.

As I couldn't go on my computer I ended up making a couple of cards:

This one I used a new stamp (forgot to add it to my little pile yesterday)one of my new cuttlebug folders, ribbon, red cardstock.

For this one I used the super tag on my sizzix put a corner pocket on the card added a blossom and brad and inked the edges a little, added a mini tag which reads " a little birdie told me..." and added some ribbon. I am not sure if I like it even if I do love that Rhonna Farrer bird stamp.

The View

Since moving here I haven't taken many photos. So yesterday, probably one of the worst weather wise since moving here I took some pics from our deck. I can't quite believe we have such a fantastic view. In England this would be classed as a million pound view!!!!! and would cost more than a million pounds to buy a house in the position our house is in. But here in the US we are able to afford a view like this. I will never tire of such a beautiful view.

RAKS

Today I posted some wishes on the SCS RAK list. Now it took me ages to figure out how to do it and learn my way round the whole forum. I ended up asking someone (can't mention names - not just yet anyway)to make sure I was doing it correctly. So as she was so helpful I have sent her something from one of her wishes and a little extra too. I know she has also got a blog too so maybe she is reading this - if so she will be stalking that postie as it is already on its way!!!!!!

I was very naughty last night and on a trip to Menards!!!!! I just had to stop off at hobby lobby they had 30% off cuttlebug stuff so I couldnt resist!!! I bought two embossing folders: Heart Blocks and Spots and Dots, they were $4.99 each but with 30% off how could I resist!

I also stopped off somewhere else and bought two Rhonna Farrer stamps: Flower sketch and flower stems, that I didnt get last time when I bought the bird stamps.

I will have to make some cards with these soon!!

Here are some of the things I have bought this week, now I think I better behave myself for the rest of the week!!!

Meow & Quack

Here are a couple of cards that I made today using my new Penny Black Stamps. I absolutely love these stamps and blame Jenny for getting me addicted to them.

The duck stamp is Duckling 3347H and the Cat is For You!! both Penny Black. 1583K.

New Begginings

I thought it was about time I started a blog........
That way all my family and friends in the UK can see what we are getting up to in the US and keep track of us.

Well we have now been here nearly 3 months and time has flown. We are slowly settling in to our New Life in America!

There are some things though that I just can't get used:
1. The bread is so sweet and I would love some Warburtons.
2. I discovered that Hersheys chocolate just doesn't compare to Cadburys.
3. I never realised just how important BISTO was to me.
4. Am I the only one in this country that does not drink coffee. I love the smell of it just dont like the tast!

There are so many craft shops that I am in heaven, everything is so much cheaper than in the UK and I am loving it. I am so spoilt for choice that I could spend all day just shopping for stash.
