Graduation Quilt–Think Positive

My son graduates this month! so I decided it was time to make him a quilt of his own!
I was originally inspired by the quilts I had seen in blog land made by Carla (who blogs at Coras Quilts) for her teenaged sons.  As it happened I already had the same fabric line in mind!  But wanted to make mine slightly different.  Instead of cutting ALL squares I cut a mixture of rectangles and squares.
DSC02571The squares are 6 inches finished and the rectangles are 18 inches x 6 inches finished.
More details about the cushion can be found here

  1. Itnis really wonderful and manly!

  2. Fabulous quilt - love the border too!

  3. LOVE the colours you've used, Sam and the way you've combined them!!!

  4. This is wonderful for a guy! Very calming colors and it evokes a modern setting such as an office building or architecture.

  5. This quilt is just gorgeous - I love how masculine the colourway makes it. I made quilts last year for my 2 sons when they graduated university and they were such a hit with both of them, I'm sure yours will be too! I'm much newer to living in the US than you are - just coming up to 2 years now - but I really enjoyed reading the word 'cushion' ;)

  6. I love this quilt. Absolutely perfect for a guy.

  7. Love your quilt and cushion (for Chrissie )the colours are just perfect for sons i think :))

  8. Great quilt Sam your son will love it!

  9. Great quilt! What a wonderful gift with the pillow.

  10. That is really nice! I like the fabrics and design. The pillow is a great extra touch. The quilting is wonderful for this!

  11. Beautiful quilt Sam. Perfect for a boy. Your son will love it. The quilting is beautiful too.
