My son graduates this month! so I decided it was time to make him a quilt of his own!
I was originally inspired by the quilts I had seen in blog land made by Carla (who blogs at Coras Quilts) for her teenaged sons. As it happened I already had the same fabric line in mind! But wanted to make mine slightly different. Instead of cutting ALL squares I cut a mixture of rectangles and squares.
The squares are 6 inches finished and the rectangles are 18 inches x 6 inches finished.
Itnis really wonderful and manly!
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilt - love the border too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the colours you've used, Sam and the way you've combined them!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful for a guy! Very calming colors and it evokes a modern setting such as an office building or architecture.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is just gorgeous - I love how masculine the colourway makes it. I made quilts last year for my 2 sons when they graduated university and they were such a hit with both of them, I'm sure yours will be too! I'm much newer to living in the US than you are - just coming up to 2 years now - but I really enjoyed reading the word 'cushion' ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. Absolutely perfect for a guy.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt and cushion (for Chrissie )the colours are just perfect for sons i think :))
